Nepenthes Importations

Shipment Pre-orders: We announce plans for new Nepenthes importations from Borneo Exotics on our website. Please email us if you would like to receive a landed price quote in Canadian dollars for a Nepenthes species or hybrid to be included in our next shipment. We maintain a link to the Borneo Exotics up-to-date availability list: www.borneoexotics.com/files/availability.pdf. If you decide to go ahead with your order, we will then reserve your plants with Borneo Exotics after receiving your 50% deposit. Importations arriving from spring to autumn will be shipped out as soon as the CFIA releases the shipment. This usually occurs within one or two days after the shipment arrival at the Vancouver International Airport (YVR). As per our usual practice for winter out-of-town orders, we will hold the plants in our greenhouses at no additional charge until it is safe to ship in April.

Price Range: The Borneo Exotics current availability list assigns a price category to each listing. These categories equate to our landed Canadian price range as follows: Category A: $20.00 - $75.00   Category B: $80.00 - $120.00   Category C: $275.00+

Price Quotes: Pre-order prices for plants in the Borneo Exotics availability list are based upon the current Canadian/USA exchange rate. Customer special orders to be included in a pending shipment must be confirmed within a reasonable length of time after receiving a price quotation from us, in order to guarantee the quoted price. We require a 50% deposit upon confirmation of your order. Prices for established plants that are currently available in our greenhouses are not subject to these variables and a deposit is not required for order confirmation. 2011 Spring Shipment : Our most recent shipment from Borneo Exotics arrived on April 30, 2011. This inventory has been added to our current Nepenthes availability list.

2011 Shipment Featured Plants: Included in this shipment are two Nepenthes varieties which we will be stocking for the first time.
1) The 'furry hamata'. This variety of Nepenthes hamata features pitchers covered in tiny hairs which give the plant a furry appearance.
2) Nepenthes ventricosa x hamata. The pitchers of this hybrid Nepenthes have retained the ribbed peristome of its N. hamata parent and also exhibit the reddish mottling of N. ventricosa

December 2010 Shipment

Our previous Nepenthes shipment prior to spring 2011 arrived in mid-December, 2010. These plants have been added to our current greenhouse inventory.

A highlight of this past shipment was the availability once again of the famous 'Black Truncata', one of the finest Nepenthes cultivars produced by Borneo Exotics. This cultivar was created by crossing two different varieties of Nepenthes truncata. The specific cross is N. truncata 'Queen of Hearts' crossed with N. truncata 'King of Spades'. Due to the recent introduction of this remarkable cultivar, photos of mature pitchers are currently unavailable. However, Borneo Exotics has provided pictures of the parent Nepenthes truncata specimens; see below.
